A Survey Through the Archive references illustrations from Joseph Banks’ publication Florilegium, Botanical Treasures from Cook’s First Voyage. David has interpreted several flora specimens through colour pencil drawings, overlaid upon digital images of the artist’s brain scans. This series references iterative processes of archival practices and re-contextualises their meaning.
